Manufacturing Engineering (part time)
What is the BSc (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering Course?
This is a two-year add-on honours degree course designed particularly for graduates of the BEng in Manufacturing Engineering. The course prepares students to work with the latest technologies associated with modern manufacturing practice placing particular emphasis on the use of computer systems to assist in product design, production planning, and operation control. It also enables them to perform the various business-related functions required in a manufacturing firm together with their incorporation into an integrated computer system.

€220 per 5 credit module, €1,320 per annum

Assessment
Course assessment is comprised of a combination of examinations and ongoing continuous assessment work. Exams are scheduled to take place at the end of each semester.
Delivery
This programme is delivered in a flexible blended mode on Tuesday and Thursdays from 7pm-10pm and
alternate Saturdays, 9.30am -1.30pm over a two year period. The majority of the content is delivered online via live lectures on Zoom, with recordings of these live lectures made available also where feasible. Students are only required to be present on campus for typically 1 - 1.5 full days in total for practical work, in just two of the four programme semesters.

Applicants must have successfully completed the BEng in Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent.
Graduates achieving an honours degree may progress onto the MSc in Innovative Technology Engineering – WD557 or similar postgraduate programmes.
Graduates of the BSc (Hons) in Manufacturing Engineering course have found employment in the following areas:
