Biography

A qualified social care professional with several years’ experience in children’s residential services and disability services in Ireland, America and Australia. Ms Anderson joined the Department of Humanities in 2008 lecturing across the Social Care and Early Years programmes. She is currently the Course Director for BA Social Care and is actively involved in Irish Association of Social Care Educators having previously acted as Vice Chair and holding a seat on the Board of Social Care Ireland.

Academic and Research Experience

Ms Anderson is currently undertaking research as part of a Doctorate in Social Sciences focusing on religious literacy in children’s residential care services in Ireland. Previous research for completion of MA focused on court room behaviour and the impact on sentencing. She is also currently engaged in research focusing on the use of technology to enhance student learning and engagement as part completion of MA module in teaching and learning.

She has broad interest in research across fields of social care, early years and youth work.

Engagement and Collaboration

Ms Anderson is an active member of the Irish Association of Social Care Educators (IASCE) and Social Care Ireland. She acted as vice president of IASCE 2011-2013 and held a seat on the board of Social Care Ireland during this time.
