Biography
My Bibliography
I am a lecturer on the BA in Health Promotion, the BA in Exercise & Health Studies and the Bachelor of Business Studies (Recreation and Sport Management) within the Department of Health Sport and Exercise Science at WIT.
I have a National Diploma in Business Studies (Recreation and Leisure), a BA(Hons) in Recreation and Leisure and a Masters of Science by research all from the Waterford Institute of Technology.
To underpin my teaching I also completed the Extra Mural Certificate in Social, Personal and Health Education (SPHE) (awarded by WIT & HSE), and proceeded to marry my interest in the area of student health and well-being with my research studies to the point where I am currently undertaking a PhD in Education at UCC, whereby I am exploring health education and well-being in higher education.
Prior to my appointment in 1996 as a member of staff in WIT I previously worked in the health and leisure industry for eight years as a sports centre manager, exercise to music and gym instructor, coach and massage therapist. In the past I have also been employed as a NCEF tutor having acquired this qualification from the University of Limerick.
