Louise Brady is an Assistant Lecturer at SETU. She originally qualified as an RNID in 2008 and has worked across a variety of services in Ireland.
Louise spent the last 12 years furthering her career in Australia where she completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing (2016) and a Masters in Advanced Practice Nursing (2019) both from the University of Melbourne.
Louise was endorsed as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) in 2019 which provided her with extensions of practice such as diagnosing and prescribing, and has spent the last 4 years prior to returning to Ireland working as an ANP across the maximum-security prison setting as part of the Victorian Institute of Forensic Mental Health.
Louise’s clinical work over the last 12 years has focused on marginalised and complex patient cohorts including Forensic Mental Health, Substance Use Disorders, Dual Disability, ASD, ID and CALD.
Louise has been extensively involved in service development and has co-authored several models of care and scopes of practice documents.
