Biography

Jill O'Mahony is a lecturer in the Department of Arts. Jill graduated with a double major Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology and English from NUI Maynooth in 2005, and in 2008 she recieved her MA from the University of Manchester in Post 1900: Literature, Theory and Culture. In 2014 she graduated with her doctorate in Sociology.

Jill has been a member of staff in the Waterford Institute of Technology since 2008. She has taught Sociology on the Arts, Social Science, Early Childhood Studies, Criminal Justice Studies and Social Care courses.

Jill's areas of interest include maritime sociology, postcolonial studies, political anthropology, cultural sociology, sexuality and gender and political sociology.
