Biography

  • Having joined TSSG (now Walton Institute) in July 2013, Ian was involved in a number of EU and enterprise Ireland projects. As part of his ongoing research Ian completed his MSc in Computing (Comms. Software) in May 2015. His dissertation dealt with creating intuitive 3D interaction techniques for 3D windowing systems.

Ian is the XR Group Lead & Technical lead in the MEPS group working on innovative projects such as OPTIVIR/VIPOP/VR Glove projects. As part of his work with Walton Institute, Ian manages the technical aspects of the XR group from research & development activties to day to day operations within the group and is currently involved with several partners on XR Applications.

    Education

Ian received his BSc (Hons) degree in Entertainment systems from South East Technological University (SETU). During this time Ian completed his internship on an EI funded project titled Audibility.

  • BSc(Hons.) in Entertainment Systems (2009-2013)
  • MSc in Computing (Comms. Software) (2013-2015).
  • PhD in Computing (Neuroscience/Computer Vision) (2016-Present)
