Judith Hickey qualified as a chef in 1990, she also holds a Diploma in Supervisory Management from the IMI (Irish Management Institute); A certificate in Training and Development from the IITD  (Irish Institute of Training & Development); A certificate in Teaching Skills for Adult Tutors; A Diploma in Culinary Arts; a  BA Culinary Arts in Pastry & Confectionery and an MA (Hons) in Teaching and Learning in Further and Higher Education.

Judith has lectured in Waterford Institute of Technology since 2014 on various culinary arts and hospitality management programmes in the following areas - 

  •    Culinary Skills and Operations,
  •     Food Safety,
  •     Applied Culinary Science,
  •     Nutrition,
  •     Gastronomy,
  •     Food Security and Sustainability.

Prior to that, she has 12 years’ experience working with Fáilte Ireland in its training division as a culinary arts lecturer. During that time she was also involved in the design and evaluation of training programmes and as an external examiner for the etb (education and training board).

She has been a member craftsman of the Craft Guild of Chefs since 2009.
