Biography
Fiona Redmond is a lecturer in the Department of Computing in SETU Carlow. She has worked in Industry for a number of years in Hewlett Packard and An Garda Síochána in various IT Analyst roles before starting work in the third level education sector in 2006. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Commercial Software Development from WIT and an MSc in Information Technology from DIT. She recently completed an online Diploma in Project Management. Professional certifications she has previously achieved include Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) and Microsoft MTA.Research Interests
Fiona Redmond is currently undertaking a PhD at Lancaster University in the area of Research, Evaluation and Enhancement in Higher Education. Her research interests include teaching pedagogy, learning enabling technologies, blended learning environments and user experience in technology enhanced learning environments. Fiona is passionate about the promotion of females in technology and is a leader in SETU Carlow’s Women in Technology Society.
Engagement and Collaboration
Member of INGENIC (Irish Network for Gender Equality in Computing). Some of the aims of this group are to: help increase the enrolment of females on third level computing programmes and improve on the experience of all students within computing programmes.
