Biography

Dr. Evelyn Landers graduated with a B.Sc(H) in Chemistry from the National University Ireland Galway (NUIG) in 1991. She then undertook Ph.D. studies at the same University in the area of organo-metallic chemistry. She completed her doctral studies intitled "A Synthetic and Structural Investigatin of the Reactivity of Divalent Metal Salicylaldimine Complexes with Antimony (III), Bismuth(III) and Antimony (V) Lewis Acids" in 1995.

In 1996 she was appointed as Lecturer in chemical and analytical sciences at Waterford Institute of Technology where she lecturers at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. She is the course leader of the BSc in Science (common entry) and coordinates the seven degree programs comprising common first science.  

Dr. Landers has experience in teaching at undergraduate & postgraduate level in the following areas:

  • Inorganic and physical chemistry
  • Land sciences
  • Good Laboratory Practice
  • Spectroscopy
  • Advanced analytical science
  • Adanced laboratory techniques.
  • Advanced spectroscopic techniques
