Biography
Born into a rich musical family Eimear Heeney began studyiny violin at four years of age. Being awarded the most prestigious MacArdle Bursary was a just reward for her dedication at such a young age. Eimear became a multiple prize winner at the Dublin Feis Ceoil and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra from1991-2001 where they toured extensively.
Eimear currently teaches violin, Budding Bows and Concert Strings at WIT. She is in demand from various Youth Orchestras throughout Ireland and has tutored the Midland Youth Orchestra and Tipperary's Millenium orchestra.
Eimear completed her Masters thesis on Beethoven's Works for Violin and Piano in 2007.
Co. Leader of the Waterford Concert Orchestra, Eimear was awarded a Masters in Violin Performance in 2007. Eimear has performed with the RTE Concert Orchestra and is a popular soloist with the 'Three Tenors'. She regularly performs onstage and on television and has accompanied Katherine Jenkins, The Coronas, Jack L, Josh Groban and many other artists, as a testament to her versatlity.
Eimear has performed throughout Europe, USA and many venues in Ireland including the National Concert Hall, The Helix, The O2, Cork and Wexford Opera Houses and is musch sought after for performances throughout the country.
