For my masters degree my thesis title was:

'An investigation into whether ICT can promote critical thinking in mathematics by enhancing mathematical understanding and logical thinking' and this research is applicable to mathematics teaching at second level.

My main area of interest at the present time is in mathematics education. Identifying the gap in what is required at H.E. and what is acquired at 2nd level mathematics is of particular interest to me.

I continue to engage with appropriate courses within the college for my professional development eg Practical Pedagogy module.

I attend conferences and workshops from time to time that I find invaluable such as:

Mathematics service teaching workshop-Tallaght IT

The 3rd Irish Symposium for Undergraduate Mathematics Education-NUIG
The 3rd Maths Service Teaching Conference –WIT

The 7th Annual Conference in Mathematics and Statistics Service Teaching and Learning-NUI Maynooth

The 8th Annual Irish Workshop on Mathematics Learning and Support Centres-Queens University, Belfast
