The TTO also plays a very important role in the advancement of key strategic goals by working with researchers to broaden their route to commercialisation.
TTO commercialisation supports
In the first steps to commercialising your research the SETU Technology Transfer Office will assist in the following;
- Assist in formulating invention disclosures, and develop IP strategy
- Assist with patent analysis, and processing patent application as appropriate
- Assist researcher with applying Enterprise Ireland’s Commercialisation Fund (link to EI CF page).
- Provide trainings on IP management, essential business skills
- Assist in negotiating those portions of contracts and agreements between the university and outside parties concerned with the ownership, protection and exploitation of Intellectual Property
- Deal with Intellectual Property issues that may arise in the administration of such agreements or contracts
