SETU is launching the #WeLoveHort Video Competition for 2023 with a theme of "A Growing Journey".

We invite you to share your passion for and knowledge of plants and gardening by creating a video that showcases your personal experiences of Horticulture. All videos should aim to be no longer than 3 minutes in length.

Whether you have a school garden, a garden at home, an allotment, or just access to a nearby green space, we want to see how you explore and engage with the natural world around you.

Who should apply

We welcome primary (4th 5th and 6th class pupils) and post-primary-aged entrants (1st year onwards including the Leaving Cert Applied) from all backgrounds, so whether you're a seasoned young gardener or a complete beginner, we encourage you to participate.

Some video ideas

In your video, we want you to explain your passion for horticulture and showcase your excitement for your chosen area of horticulture. This could be a particular flower, tree, or vegetable that you find fascinating, or it could be a broader theme such as sustainable gardening, permaculture, or community gardening. Check out the Video Ideas tab below for inspiration and some of the types of videos you might make.

We can't wait to see what you create so, grab your cameras and start filming your growing journey now!

Note to video coordinators (i.e. the teacher, parent or guardian organising submission of the video entry): There is important additional information and guidance available in the Terms, Conditions and Guidelines Document which you should read before students prepare their entry.
