SETU’s Office of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) were awarded the Excellence in Diversity, Inclusivity and Equality for the University’s Commitment to Inclusive Education and Equality at the Education Awards 2025.

The award highlights the team’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and globally connected learning environment. The EDI team was also shortlisted in the category of Best International Collaboration Project for the SETU and Gazan Scholarship Initiative.

The award and nomination are testaments to SETU’s ongoing dedication to creating a supportive and empowering atmosphere for all students, both regionally and worldwide. They also reflect the University's significant impact in promoting equity and inclusion in education.

Yuxin Wang, CEO and Co-Founder, GoMappED presents an Education Award 2025 to Dr Allison Kenneally. 

“We are incredibly honoured to be recognised among the leading institutions in Ireland for our efforts in equity and inclusion,” said Dr Allison Kenneally, Vice President for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at SETU.

“Receiving the award for Excellence in Diversity, Inclusivity, and Equality, and being shortlisted in these important categories, showcases the passion and collaborative spirit of our staff, students, and partners - especially through the Gazan Scholarship Initiative, which exemplifies the power of international solidarity in education.”

The Gazan Scholarship Initiative, created in collaboration with humanitarian and academic organisations, underscores SETU’s commitment to international cooperation and global citizenship. It gives students from Gaza the chance to pursue higher education at SETU, showcasing how education can bridge divides and unite people.
