On behalf of the acting VP for Research, Innovation and Impact, Dr Thomas O’Toole and SETU Head of Research Dr Geraldine Canny, SETU is delighted to announce the opening of the TU RISE Research Sabbatical call. 

The purpose of the Research Sabbatical is to provide academics with dedicated research time to engage with enterprise and develop new research projects of relevance to the region and in line with European Regional Development Funding (ERDF). This can include spending time in regional industry and within EU regions to provide academics with dedicated research time to engage with enterprise and develop new research projects. 

There will be 19 Sabbaticals over three tranches. The first tranche will commence in January 2025 to December 2025. 

The application must be signed off by the Head of Faculty/ School. 

All applications must be sent to two emails [email protected] and in copy to [email protected] by 5pm on 20 June, 2024.

The email subject line should include the applicant’s name, followed by the scheme name “TU RISE Research Sabbatical”.
