Competition meets innovation while aiming to answer societal challenges. Can your business idea prove its worth?

Up to €5,000 awaits the winners of the 2024 EU-CONEXUS 'Contest for Ideas'

Bringing people together, creating innovative ideas and finding solutions for challenges in the field of 'Smart Urban Costal Sustainability' – the Innovation Contest known as “Contest for Ideas” aims to unlock entrepreneurial mindset. Master students, PhD students and researchers are encouraged to apply with the goal of presenting their innovative ideas to a high-profile jury.

The EU-CONEXUS Alliance of which SETU is a partner university aims to foster multinational collaboration and innovation. The Innovation Contest invites Master, PhD students and researchers who have ideas that may have the potential to become a start-up and turn into a business to take their chance, and pitch their concepts on the “big screen”. Up to €5,000 awaits the winners of the 2024 EU-CONEXUS 'Contest for Ideas'. Business ideas and eventually proposals for the innovation contest can cover any innovative field. Although the EU-CONEXUS Alliance encourages ideas with a reference to 'Smart Urban Costal Sustainability' related topics, there are no strict topic-related limitations.

Selected innovative business ideas battle it out at the online pitch event

The innovation contest has a two-step application process. The first step involves submitting a project idea. From that point a variety of workshops will be offered to help students and researchers to refine and develop their ideas into a proper project proposal. Following an evaluation round, selected teams will pitch their ideas to a high-profile jury during the EU-CONEXUS online pitch event in May 2024.
In addition to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, the Innovation Contest aims to inspire students and researcher to create innovative ideas beyond borders, get together in multinational teams and tackle the challenges of the regions covered by EU-CONEXUS. However, for this first call individuals and national teams are also encouraged to apply. Participation is confidential.

Visit the Innovation Contest page for further details on how to apply! Deadline for project ideas: February 18th, 2024.
