The EU-CONEXUS Innovation Contest encourages the development of potential start-ups by giving participants the opportunity to pitch their ideas to an international jury, gain valuable business insights, and compete for prize money to advance their projects.

The contest, known as the EU-CONEXUS Innovation Contest of Ideas is open to staff and students from EU-CONEXUS universities. Participants must form multinational teams with members from at least two different EU-CONEXUS universities. Teams can compete in one of two categories: students (Master and Bachelor) or researchers (including PhD students and academic, non-academic and research staff). While entries related to Smart Urban Coastal Sustainability (SmUCS) are encouraged, innovative ideas from any field are welcome.

Why participate?

This contest offers more than just a competition. Participants receive expert feedback from a high-profile jury, attend workshops on business development and pitching techniques, and connect with aspiring entrepreneurs across the EU-CONEXUS Alliance. The top teams will present their ideas in an online pitch event, where winners battle it out for prize money ranging from €500-€4,000.

With a structured application process and mentorship, the EU-CONEXUS Innovation Contest is a launchpad for turning creative business ideas into impactful, sustainable solutions.
