This page provides essential information for SETU international applicants on fees, payments, and refunds. It outlines the range of programme fees for both undergraduate and postgraduate international students, with additional guidance on where to find detailed fee rates specific to each programme.
For those accepted into a programme, instructions for paying the deposit through the SETU online portal are provided, including steps to use any discount codes. Applicants can review refund eligibility for deposits, which may be issued only under specific circumstances, such as visa denial or unmet entry conditions, per SETU’s Deposit and Fee Refund Policy.
Ready to apply? Paying your application fee / submitting your application
When you submit your application on the portal, your application fee is paid directly to SETU as part of the submission process via that portal.
International fees for undergraduate programmes range from €13,500 to €14,500, and for postgraduate programmes, they range from €14,000 to €15,000.
You can find detailed fee rates on the SETU fees website. The specific fee rate for your programme will also be included in your online offer letter.
If you started a multi-year programme at a non-EU fee rate in or after the 2022/2023 academic year, your fees will remain the same as when you began, as long as you continue in the same programme.
There is a non-refundable application fee of €35, which covers one application.
The application fee is €35 for all applicants. This fee cannot be waived or refunded.
If you have a discount code, please remember that it can only be used once per application. You will need to enter this code on the application fee payment page before submitting your application.
The receipt you get from the portal / your local bank after payment is the receipt you can keep for your personal records.
Important Note - SETU is no longer issuing fee receipts for payments made on the SETU Application Portal for new students
Received your offer? Making a deposit payment / securing your seat
When you receive your offer, you can secure your seat by making the deposit payment directly on the portal.
When you receive an offer that requires a deposit, you must pay it online through the portal to secure your place. Make sure to complete the payment before the deadline specified in your offer and the programme is closed due to capacity considerations. If you encounter any technical issues while paying your deposit, please reach out to a member of the SETU Global team for assistance.
Deposits are refundable if you are denied a student visa, fail to meet the conditions of your original offer, or fail to meet other criteria specified in SETU’s Deposit and Fee Refund Policy. If you need to update us on your acceptance status, please contact a member of the SETU Global team.
- The receipt you get from the portal / your local bank after payment is the receipt you use for your visa application.
- Even if you are not visa required, please take care to keep these receipts safe as these are the only fee receipts you will receive.
Important Note - SETU is no longer issuing fee receipts for payments made on the SETU Application Portal for new students
Secured Your Seat? Further fee payments
Once you've secured your seat, any remaining fee payments must be made off the application portal. Please see the instructions below.
After accepting your seat on your chosen programme by paying your deposit on the SETU application portal, you will receive an email with your unique SETU Student ID Number. This number is crucial for registration, accessing student services, and making payments.
- The deposit that you paid to secure your seat has reduced your outstanding tuition fees by €1000.
- When making further payments, you can reduce the ‘tuition fee due’ amount on your offer letter by €1000.
Important Note [Visa Required Students]- If you require a visa to come to Ireland, you must have €6k of your overall fees paid – this is a visa office requirement and a requirement as part of your visa application.
Important Note [Non-Visa Required Students] – If you do not require a visa to come to Ireland, you must still pay at least 50% of your ‘tuition fee due’ amount.
We encourage you to make full fee payment prior to registration to ensure a smooth start to your studies!
For this academic term, the absolute final date to receive all outstanding fees is January 31st, 2026.
The only way to make further fee payments after paying your deposit is by TransferMate.
