Funded by the European Union, Erasmus+ is a specialised initiative concentrating on mobility within European countries. It primarily encompasses students and staff from higher education institutions situated in participating European nations.
Erasmus+ places an accent on academic exchanges, enabling students to engage in a predetermined period of study at another European university, with earned credits contributing to their degree
South East Technological University has inter-institutional exchange agreements with approximately 100 universities within the EU.
Every year we welcome over 200 students to our Erasmus+ in our Schools of Business, Humanities, Science, Engineering and Health Sciences.
Our exchange programmes provide an opportunity for EU students to join and contribute to our vibrant academic community at SETU.
Spending a few months in a different culture and country is the best opportunity to gain a valuable insight into a new culture, learn a language and develop new skills.

Students and staff wishing to study or teach at SETU must meet the requirements of the University. Students must be successful in their home Institute examinations to be accepted for study at SETU. Therefore, interested students or staff should contact the coordinator at their home institute to make the necessary arrangements for their exchange period abroad.
Erasmus+ is operated through the setting up of Inter-Institutional Agreements between educational institutes, to develop partnerships for the exchange of students and staff.
Students wishing to study at SETU’s campuses must first be nominated by their home institute in advance of completing SETU’s online application.
If you are not sure whether there is an existing Inter-Institutional Agreement with your home institution, please see the following overview.
- Examination Results – Students must attach copies of their previous examination results from their home institute. You cannot submit your application form without these results attached and Heads of Department will not consider applications for entry without a current copy of examination results.
- Learning Agreement – Please note that the new SETU is in the process of setting up a new Dashboard for EWP. Until such time as this is in place, SETU will continue to work with hard copy Learning Agreements. To submit your application form, this document must be attached to ensure there is enough time to have it signed and returned to the home institute prior to the arrival of the student. If you wish to use the SETU Learning Agreement you will be able to download a copy here.
- Important: Please ensure that you provide your complete home address details as all future correspondence will be sent to this address.
- Please note that the email address you submit on your application form will be used for all correspondence in relation to your application. Please ensure that you have access to that email at all times prior to your arrival at the SETU.
