FAO Applicants Resident in Ireland: Springboard+ Funding
This course has been funded under the Irish Government’s ‘Springboard+’ programme, for more information on the fee structure please head to the Springboard+ website here. To be eligible you need to be:
- Resident in Ireland - either with a valid social welfare claim in place for unemployed people; or, for employed people, proof of having been resident here for 3 out of last 5 years.
- Non-EU Irish residents must have ‘Stamp 4’ residency immigration status or above in order to be eligible.
- Recent Graduates of full-time level 8 degree programmes are not eligible for Springboard+ funding for one year after graduation date but may apply as fee-paying students.
- The funding is not open to people who are not resident in Ireland. Please see further information on Springboard+ eligibility.
- The Springboard+ application closing date is Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
Overview
This Masters programme aims to provide participants with specialist knowledge in both environmental management and health and safety management. It offers participants an opportunity to reflect on their professional practice and gain a theoretical and critical perspective of issues associated with environmental, health and safety. Providing a healthy and safe work place whilst protecting the environment is paramount for every business and industry. This MSc in Environmental Health and Safety Management will provide participants with practical management skills.
It is essentially designed for busy professionals who wish to develop their knowledge base, network with like-minded individuals and further their career. Further outcomes at this level relate to specialist skills and transferable skills required for managing, such as the abilities to critique and develop organisational structure and initiate change.

Duration
Please note that the course duration is two years for applicants who apply directly.
Entry Requirements
The entry criteria for the following Awards at level 9 is that applicants progress from L8 major qualification with a minimum 2:2 or an equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.
All applicants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants who do not have a Level 8 qualification at a 2.2award level and who have relevant work experience and or other certificates and qualifications may also be considered through the University's RPL procedures. Relevant professional experience may be considered and individuals will be assessed on a case-by-case basis through RPL procedures.
South East Technological University reserves the right to require applicants to attend for interview to determine their suitability for the programme.
Study & Career Opportunities
Graduates may pursue Level 10 (PhD) study opportunities upon successful completion of this programme.
A significant aspect of environment, health and safety (EHS) activities involves striving for compliance with organizational and legislative requirements. This is a multi-purpose award-type. The knowledge, skill and competence acquired are relevant to personal development, participation in society and community, employment, and access to additional education and training within the remit of Health and Safety or other discipline areas.
