Are you an aspiring educator looking to build a strong foundation for your future career?
Teachers across the education sector are facing a rapidly changing landscape and are expected to navigate a number of critical challenges: emerging technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) platforms, curriculum reform, and the complex needs of diverse learners in classrooms.
The Department of Education at SETU has developed a suite of programmes built around core areas: curriculum development, pedagogy and assessment, while also responding to the contemporary needs of teachers, promoting sustainable and inclusive approaches.
We work with a range of partners across the south east - schools, regional bodies and national agencies - that inform the development of our programmes ensuring their real-world relevance.
Our portfolio in undergraduate education offers initial teacher education and continuing professional development programmes to teachers and educators in primary, post-primary, further education and training (FET) and higher education.
Our programmes include:
- Undergraduate Programmes (Levels 6 to 8) in adult literacy, adult and further education and community education and development.
- Initial Teacher Education Programme (Level 8) focusing on the formation of teachers and educators for the FET sector.
The BA (Hons) in Teaching in Adult and Further Education is a Teaching Council-approved teacher education qualification (TEQ) for practitioners working in the FET sector.
