The Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Business Information Systems (BIS) is designed to train hybrid professionals who bridge the gap between information technology and business strategy. As organizations globally undergo digital transformation—leveraging emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data Analytics, Cloud Computing, IoT, and Blockchain—this programme equips students with high-level technical expertise alongside essential business acumen, teamwork, and strategic problem-solving skills.
Practical Learning & Flexible Semester
A major highlight of the programme is the Flexible Semester in Year 3 (Semester 6), designed to build core soft skills, commercial awareness, and creative flexibility. Students choose one of three distinct experiential pathways:
Work Placement: Gaining direct professional experience within an IT department or business organization relevant to the BIS discipline.
Start-Up Lab: Establishing and managing a real commercial, social, or non-profit enterprise for the duration of the semester.
International Placement: Studying abroad at one of SETU's partner universities across Europe, the Americas, Asia, or Australia.
