South East Technological University offers preferential entry to students who successfully complete a linked FET programme in partner Colleges of Further Education and who meet certain criteria.

The aim of the SETU Progression Scheme is to ensure equality of opportunity for, and the smooth transition of learners moving from further to higher education. The Scheme recognises the range of generic and discipline specific skills and knowledge acquired by successful students on further education programmes and matches these to the requirements of SETU programmes.

How to apply

How to apply for consideration under the South East Technological University Further Education Progression Scheme for year 1 entry:

Apply to the CAO for year 1 entry to a SETU programme(s) for 2023. The CAO application deadline is 1 February 2023 with a late deadline of 1 May 2023 for non-restricted programmes. To be considered under the SETU Progression Scheme, the programme(s) chosen on the CAO application should be a linked to the applicant’s QQI FET Award under the scheme.

Complete the SETU Further Education Progression Scheme Application. The closing date for applications to the SETU Further Education Scheme is 1st May 2023

If successful, applicants will receive an offer through that CAO at Round 0 (early August).
