Biography

Philip Cremin is a graduate of the Cork Institute of Technology and the University of Limerick. He holds a diploma in Telecommunications, a BA in Theology and Philosophy, and a Master's Degree by Research and Dissertation in Theology. While completing his Masters's degree he spent one semester completing his research at the University of Tubingen, Germany. Philip's MA research degree was presented to Benedict XVI at Castle Gandolfo in August 2012. 

He worked with the Dominican Priory Institute, Tallaght, Co Dublin (2003-2005) as one of their Distance Education Theology Co-Ordinator. In addition, Philip worked as a Tutor (2006-2008) in the Theology Dept at Mary Immaculate College where he was responsible for the first Year students; Occasional hours (2007-2008) with the Learner Support Unit at the College. In addition, Philip also took on a part-time lecturing role with the Dept of Learning, Society & Religious Education at Mary Immaculate (2009).

He currently lectures in Theology and Religious Studies at the Waterford Institute of Technology (2009-present) where he also supervises theses to Master's level on the MA in Applied Spirituality program. Philip was also an invited External Panel member for the MA In Aquinas Studies at the Institute Of Technology Tallaght (May 2018).   

He is a regular contributor to the 'Conversations Program' held at the Dominican Retreat Centre, Ennismore, Cork City and is currently a member of the Irish Episcopal Theological Committee.

He is a member of the Irish Theological Association, the European Society for Catholic Theology, the Spirituality in Society and the Professions (SpirSoP), and the Creativity and Culture Research Group

In addition to his teaching experience at Mary Immaculate College, Philip currently (2009-present) works at the Waterford Institute of Technology where he lectures in systematic theology.

In addition to having worked for 15 years in the corporate sector as a Technician, Engineer, Operations Manager with a number of companies and laterally as a Technical Marketing Manager for the European Division of Vishay General Semiconductor, Philip is also a member of the following groups:
