Ms Keira Flanagan

2010 - Present     Lecturer in Psychology, Department of Applied Arts, Waterford Institute of Technology

Keira teaches on the BA (H) Psycholgoy and  service teaches across a number of other courses including the BA (H) Arts, BA (H) Criminal Justice, BA (H) Social Care, BA (H) Early Childhood Studies.

Keira lectures in developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, social psychology, statistical design and analyses and social reserach methods. She has also supervised a number of undergraduate research dissertations.

Keira worked as a distance course tutor on the developmental and educational psychology module for the BA (H) Psychology programme. 

Research Interests:

Keira is currently enrolled in the Department of Sociology, Social Policy and Social work at Queen's University Belfast PhD programme under the supervision of Dr. Michelle Butler and Dr. Siobhan McAllister. She is carrying out a primarily qualitative study exploring the impact of Secure Training Colleges in promoting desistance among imprisoned young men.

Interpretative phenomenological analysis, Thematic analysis, Mixed methods research design, Qualitative studies, Quantitative studies, Systematic literature reviews, Questionnaire design, Computerised Psychological tests, Research ethics for projects involving vulnerable participants.
