Biography
James is a Lecturer in Management in the School of Business, Waterford. He has extensive teaching experience on a range of undergraduate programmes, although his main teaching areas are Business Strategy and International Business. Previously, James was the Programme Leader for the BA (Honours) in International Business for over ten years. In addition to teaching, James is the International Placement and Erasmus Coordinator for the School of Business.
James's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business (Hons) Degree from WIT and a Master's in Business Studies Degree from the Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD.
James is currently completing a PhD through DCU Business School. The research has the working title "The Construction of Organisational Identity: An Exploration of the Nested Identity of MNE Subsidiaries".
James is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
James has taught on a range of undergraduate modules in the School of Business, however for the past number of years his main teaching areas are Business Strategy and International Business. These are vey dynamic areas where issues and trends are constantly evolving. James has also supervised a wide range of post-graduate dissertations, mainly on the Masters in Business Studies Programme.
Before joining the School of Business, WIT, James was a Production Accountant with Diageo, in its Kilkenny Brewery, Ireland. Prior to that, he was Graduate Trainee with Diageo, and was also based in its Kilkenny Brewery, Ireland.
