Biography
Helen currently lecturers on Social Care and Early Childhood Studies courses at WIT, with a particular focus on Reflective Practice and Creative Arts modules (Drama). She is a qualified Music Therapist and Humanistic Integrative Counsellor and works in a variety of community and ID settings in this regard. She is particularly interested in the applied use of creativity in therapeutic, social care and early education settings and is active in pursuing these interests both through research and practice.
2013-present: Lecturer in Applied Arts (Social Care, Early Childhood Studies, Certificate in Skills in Independent Living), Waterford Institute of Technology; Presenting modules in Community Drama, Personal and Professional Development, Expressive Arts alongside Practice Placement and Thesis supervision;
2000-2008: Lecturer in Creative & Performing Arts (Music Technology, Multimedia), Waterford Institute of Technology; Presenting modules in Acoustics, Sound Synthesis, Recording, Music Theory;
1999-2000: Teaching Assistant, Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, University of Limerick; Tutor for modules in Business Information Systems and Programming;
