The CAO Change of Mind opened today (Friday), 5 May to allow applicants to make changes to course choices.
Until Saturday 1 July at 5pm, applicants can register an online change of course choices, free of charge. This is the final deadline to make any changes.
The CAO has advised that applicants check their course choices immediately to ensure that they are correct.
There are two lists of courses to consider in a CAO application – Level 8 and Level 7/6. A Change of Mind submission cancels all the previous course choices in the category in which changes are made. However, the two categories are separate, and a change in one won’t impact the other.
Shauna Whyte, Head of Academic Administration and Student Affairs at SETU said, “My advice to applicants when considering their Change of Mind is to place their choices in genuine order of preference. Applicants may receive a second offer from CAO in a subsequent round – that offer will always be a higher preference and never a lower preference. In other words, if applicants are offered their second choice in round one, it is possible they may receive their first choice in round two. However, they will never be offered anything lower than their second choice.”
Michael Mullan, Student Recruitment and Admissions Manager at SETU added, “It is important to think about the practicalities such as university location, the cost of living and availability of accommodation when deciding on your order of preferences.”
There is no charge for the Change of Mind facility and if you make a change online, an acknowledgement is sent to the email address used at the application stage. You can make changes right up to the 1 July deadline at 5pm.
Guided tours
SETU is offering guided campus tours in conjunction with our CAO Information Drop-In days from Wednesday, 21 June to Friday, 30 July to coincide with the CAO Change of Mind deadline.
The service will run daily on both the Cork Road Campus, Waterford, Kilkenny Road Campus, Carlow and Summerhill Campus, Wexford from 10am - 3pm. Pre-booking is required. Campus tours will commence from the main entrance in each campus.
