The Research Support Unit is delighted to host an in-person Interdisciplinarity Research Workshop on the 28 February from 10am - 2pm at the Cork Road Campus in Waterford.
When implemented effectively, interdisciplinary research can address societal “grand challenges”, this approach is increasingly required in funding applications. This workshop will be given by Dr PJ White and Dr Brian Casey, senior lecturers in DesignCORE at SETU in Carlow, in order to begin a dialogue and provide SETU researchers with necessary skills. The event will be opened by Dr Geraldine Canny, Head of Research at SETU in Waterford.
Through a co-design participatory approach, attendees will actively draw on their experiences and provide input to inform and further the development of an interdisciplinary research culture at SETU. Spaces are limited to 20 participants.
Workshop Content:
Attendees will receive an overview of what Interdisciplinary research constitutes, why it is important, and information on tools will be provided.
Examples of international best practice case studies will also be shared.
This event will be an opportunity to create connections across disciplines and campuses to help develop research collaborations.
Coffee, refreshments, and a brown bag lunch will be provided.
