Administration building, Room A02, Cork Road Campus, Waterford

We are delighted to invite our entire SETU Research Community to an in-person 4-hour interactive workshop developing the Impact section of your Horizon Europe proposals on 2 March 2023 from 11 am to 3pm with a break for lunch. Light refreshments will be provided. Spaces are limited and early registration is required.

Presented by: Ger Hanly from Write Fund

Impact is the centre of Horizon Europe and as we saw in Horizon 2020, the Impact section was extremely important, especially when applying for an Innovation Action (IA). In this workshop, sections 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 will be presented through a mixture of theory, tips, and tools that research staff can use when developing competitive proposals under Horizon Europe.

Presentations will be complemented with open discussions whilst working on live examples from the research participants on the day. Actively working on live examples allows the participants to practice and master the key processes and steps in proposal preparation. In this way, participants will also leave with work that can be utilised in their next submission.

Workshop topics:

• Opening with an overview of proposal preparation and how the Excellence and Implementation sections both contribute to and are influenced by the Impact Section

• Expected Impact in Horizon Europe

o Review of what is expected in CSA, RIAs, IAs and MSCAs

• Proposal Impact Development Workshop

o Review of what is meant by Impact, Innovation and Exploitation

o Proposal Exploitation Workshop with participants using live examples from researchers on the day

• Dissemination and Communication

o Proposal Development Workshop with participants using live examples from researchers on the day

Prior to the workshop, research backgrounds of the participants will be collated to provide and work on relevant examples for the participants.  The session is limited to 20 participants so it’s important to register early to enable the RSU to collect details on participants.
