South East Technological University (SETU) and the University of Limerick (UL) are teaming up to jointly deliver the rollout of the National Forum Digital Badge for Universal Design in Teaching and Learning in a fully online format. As part of this course, SETU will also collaborate with digital badge colleagues at Dublin City University (DCU).

The course runs in a fully online format for 10 weeks, with approximately 25 hours of learner effort expected over the period. It begins on 12 February 2025 with the first online introductory webinar as a joint event between SETU & UL.

This free digital badge course will provide SETU's lecturing staff with a strong introduction to the UDL Framework and give you the opportunity to implement UDL approaches within your teaching activities.

Learning outcomes

  • Reflect on the diversity of students in their institutions.
  • Gain a good understanding of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework and how it can support diverse learners.
  • Redesign some elements of their teaching and learning practice based on their knowledge of UDL principles.
  • Consider how they will change their practice more broadly in line with a UDL approach.
